Hi! I’m Austin Davids — the founder of Set Point Mental Edge. I’ve been immersed in the world of sports for as long as I can remember, playing just about every sport imaginable and picking up a tennis racquet at the age of five. My love for competition and coaching led me to break multiple Kansas high school state records in tennis and eventually take on the role of tennis coach at Olathe South High School. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with athletes across a variety of sports, including golf, baseball, softball, wrestling, and of course, tennis. I hold a degree in sport psychology from Grand Canyon University and am currently pursuing my master’s in Positive Coaching and Athletic Leadership at the University of Missouri. Through Set Point Mental Edge, my mission is to help athletes unlock their athletic potential by developing the mental resilience and confidence they need to thrive — not just in sports, but in life.
I believe in empowering athletes to unlock their athletic potential by overcoming mental barriers and enhancing their performance. With a focus on mental resilience, I guide my clients through the ups and downs of their sports journey, whether that's dealing with injuries, managing stress, combating self-doubt, or anything in between, utilizing principles of sport psychology.
*Every new client begins with a free 30–45 minute consultation. This initial call gives us a chance to get to know each other, discuss your goals related to athletic potential, and determine if we’re a good fit — no pressure, no cost. *After the consultation, I offer 45-minute to 1-hour coaching sessions focused on enhancing mental resilience and sport psychology, available any day of the week based on your schedule. You can choose between one to three sessions per week, depending on your needs. Each session is $70, with payments accepted via Venmo. *Olathe South athletes receive a 25% discount on all sessions as part of my commitment to supporting the local sports community.
Austin is really good at what he does. He truly cares about helping athletes unlock their athletic potential. He assisted me in learning how to prepare mentally, not just before competitions but also in practices, allowing me to build mental resilience that I could apply during games, meets, and matches. I was able to use those sport psychology tips in the classroom as well, helping me block out the noise that sometimes distracts me. It’s made a significant difference in my confidence going into any situation!
This journey is one I wish we would have started sooner for my son, as it’s greatly impacted not only his athletics but also his approach to school work. Austin has been key in nurturing my son’s confidence and helping him realize his athletic potential. He has developed mental resilience, allowing him to compete at the varsity level as a Freshman and thrive in high-stakes situations.
